We have been doing this for ages, but now the world has changed.

It has become global. We are all interconnected.

And in this relatively new, closed integral system we just cannot go on taking all as before, as we affect everybody else and we deplete our environment.

That is the reason for all the crisis situations we see around us today.

The financial crisis is just one of them.

So it is up to us, all of us, to change our attitudes towards each other and instead of only taking, start giving. We need to keep the well being of the whole our priority. After all if the whole is healthy, the individual parts are healthy too.

Just like in a healthy human body.

The derivatives markets are measured in the hundreds of trillions of US dollars. This much wealth only exists in the magical fantasy world of the imaginations of these 'financial wizards' (?). This is the heart of the crisis. This is the engine which drives the entire world's financial markets. And it's running on fumes.

Government and Wall Street. The Republicans deregulated big business, basically entrusting the economy to them. Big business went hog-wild and made large loans to businesses and individuals who couldn't repay it. In return, the Wall Street gang raked in multi-million dollar salaries and bonuses and, even with this economic crisis, remain very well off.



The sad thing is that the Republicans controlled both Congress and the White House for 5 years under Bush. They did not implement a single major piece of economic reform. Instead, they cut taxes and chose to spend money we didn't have to help the Iraqis and Afghanis. Now, the Republicans are against spending money to help Americans!
