Do you think that the Newspapers etc are making out that the financial crisis is worse than it actually is?

I think that they have. The real problem is that much of the economy is based on public confidence. The more the press insists everything is going down the drain they are actually creating the situation. Financial people that don't have confidence won't invest. The public that loses confidence will cut spending. This will cause business to cut back and lay people off. From there it spirals.

Look at the price of gas as a perfect example of the press making it worse than it is. How many times over the past couple years has there been news reports and predictions that gas would go over $5 a gallon?Do you think that the Newspapers etc are making out that the financial crisis is worse than it actually is?
No, it's only just starting. I couldn't believe the stupid report from the institute of personnel management last week who were saying there will be 600,000 out of work by the end of 2009 - it's going to be closer to 5000.000! How inept are they? Heads in the sand stupidity, almost as bad as this ridiculous government paying for training when there aren't any jobs available and won't be for around 18 months!
~~I have to agree with misty blue. We don't and won't know the full truth of the economic disaster we are really facing until Obama is sworn in.

The news can't make up what I see and here all over my state! Their is no work, people are losing their homes right and left, and businesses are closing their doors all over.

The news reports what is happening, therefore it does not make it happen, it already is happening, and they keep us informed.~~Do you think that the Newspapers etc are making out that the financial crisis is worse than it actually is?
Well, the Daily Mail is always trying to make mountains out of molehills but on this occasion I think things in Britain %26amp; globally are really quite bad. The papers can be a bit hysterical but lots of people are losing jobs, which is very worrying.
well i think the worst of the financial crisis is hitting the businesses so yes an no... it so far has not directly affected me but yeah i know people who have lost their jobs or loosing their jobs due to the collapse of the businessesDo you think that the Newspapers etc are making out that the financial crisis is worse than it actually is?
the constant scare mongering certainly doesn't help

every time they tell us things are bad ......the stock market goes down and they get worse

why don't they shut up for a bit and see if things improve

it seems bad news is 'better news'
Unfortunately, no I don't. They may try and sensationalise it in order to sell more papers, but I don't see any evidence of them embellishing.
I think that they are making it out as worse, so that they will get more people to read their newspaper, but I do believe it is fairly bad...
no but it will pass if you dont panic, i have lived through two of these events before and they always pass.
If anything they're being too cautious.Hold on to your hats we're in for a bumpy ride.
