Is it more expensive to live in Hollywood than Los angeles?

I want to know if it's more expensive to live in hollywood than L.A. Please help me I was planning to move there when I'm older an I'm gonna save lots of money please helpIs it more expensive to live in Hollywood than Los angeles? Please go back to the "Los Angeles" question subsection, scroll up 3 questions to the one asked by "Justin W", and read it and the replies. (I do NOT mean Justin W's answer to your question). You will see he has discovered why we who live in Los Angeles keep telling people that ask about moving here to stay where they are. You will NOT be able to find work, and your money will QUICKLY disappear.

As to your question, Hollywood is just a dirty district within the City of Los Angeles so the cost of living won't be any different. The real Hollywood is not like you see portrayed on stupid (MTV) television programs. Anyone who can afford so won't live there. Is it more expensive to live in Hollywood than Los angeles?
Hollywood is an area in Los Angeles City, and LA City, is in LA County. Los Angeles is very big, there are areas that are more expensive than Hollywood, and less expensive. If you're planning to move to Hollywood in a few years, you should expect to pay about $1500 a month for an OK one bedroom in an OK area, the same apartment is probably about $1300 a month now. But Hollywood really isn't that nice or safe, just so you know. Over in the wealthy Westwood area of LA where UCLA is, a nice one bedroom apartment will cost about $2000 a month. In a scary area of LA, like near downtown, you might be able to find a one bedroom for about $1000 a month right now.

Yep, you're going to have to save lots of money! Make a written plan, that will help you. Also, consider doing well in high school so you can get into a good college in LA as you may be able to get financial aid and scholarships to help pay for expenses, and so then after you graduate you can get a job to be able to afford to live here. Good entry level positions pay less than $1500 a month net -- so after you pay your rent, you are almost out of money! However, if you go to college and learn a profession, you will make more and be able to better afford it.

Good luck!Is it more expensive to live in Hollywood than Los angeles?Considering Hollywood is Los Angeles, that's kind of hard to answer.

You should move there when you have a stable job and that job alone (NOT your life savings) can afford to pay the rent, food, utilities, etc. If you have to use your savings every month in LA, that means you need to go back home.

People who say "How much money should I save up to move to Los Angeles?" should not come here at all, because unlike your hometown, in Los Angeles, that money will diminish faster than a fat guy eating a whole large pizza! Plus, with no job lined up, expect to be home in a heartbeat accomplishing absolutely nothing.

Did you ever consider the fact that LA is not the cheapest place in the world?

Coastal California is the MOST COVETED area which means MORE $$$.

Affordability does not exist in Los Angeles. Starting prices begin at around $1000+/mo. and that's usually for a studio in a somewhat decent area. And those luxurious, modern looking condos you see in the movies and television programs are not common in a typical Los Angeles neighborhood. Common condos/apartments/studios in Los Angeles are old, ghetto-looking buildings, and those do not come cheap at all as mentioned above.

Jobs are also nonexistent at the moment. Unemployment rates have jumped to 13% so good luck finding a job.

Keep in mind you do NEED to buy groceries, hygiene products, clothes, gas, electric, water, insurance, car, etc. and none of that is going to be cheap neither. Also, you're going to need to save money for doctor visits and need to keep money in case something critical happens to you (you'll never know!)

Speaking of cars, you NEED a car in order to live in Los Angeles. The roads in Los Angeles are not bicycle friendly and things are not conveniently located, unfortunately. The insurance for the car is not going to be cheap since the rate in Los Angeles are high and the gas prices are going to make you want to move back to your hometown.

Also, keep in mind that there is NO SUCH THING as a "safe" place. You can live in a "safe" place and still have a looney neighbor that decided to get drunk and run over an innocent child playing outside with his car or a guy that has beef with another guy in your neighborhood and decides to pop a glock on his head.

And moving here to be an actor/actress is one sure way of saying, "You'll either be back home, in pornography, or dead on the streets in a few moths - to a year." There are literally MILLIONS of people who flock to Los Angeles for that dream and only less than 0.5% actually make it and only a small fraction of the millions that come actually have LOADS of experience.

PS - Hollywood is NOT where all the actors/actresses are. It's a piece of dump town full of crazies and whores.
______________

Peedlepup - MTV hasn't been glamorizing California for a while now. It's all about glamorizing teen pregnancies and New Jersey at the moment! -_-*Is it more expensive to live in Hollywood than Los angeles?
people really need to quit thinking hollywood is glamourous and fun. Hollywood is a dump and full of crazies, drunks, homeless people and losers with no jobs who think they are something they are not. people come here from out of town thinking its great and want to try and be something they are not. its not the place to be discovered thats for sure. and its not safe either. if you want to move to la move to a suburb, get a job (if you can find one) and enjoy california living there. just know that california in general is really expensive and its hard to get by no matter where you live.Is it more expensive to live in Hollywood than Los angeles?apartments in north hollywood are usually around 1500-1600 a month for a one bedroom. west hollywood is more expensive. it would depends on what area of los angeles you are talking about. fyi hollywood in general is not that nice of an area unless you are living up in the gated communities of the hollywood hills where the celebrities live in million dollar mansions. save lots of money and fyi even if you have a degree and good grades and experience its very hard to find a job here right now and the ones you do find dont pay very much.Is it more expensive to live in Hollywood than Los angeles?
actually Hollywood is a dump. and Los angeles is right behind it! Go to Oregon Washington or Arizona.

Cali is broke and the only thing the stupid governor can think of is RAISING TAXES and extending the temporary taxes the stupid voters approved!

I can see it now... %26lt; Little kid %26gt; "Please vote yes for raising taxes otherwise all the afternoon school programs will be eliminated"

%26lt; Cop and or fireman%26gt; "Vote yes to raise taxes otherwise response times will be longer and our state will be more dangerous because of the criminal element"

fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!
Depends on where in L.A. you're looking at living. Hollywood is actually a neighborhood within the city of L.A. and it's pretty expensive for what you get.
