Do you know of anybody out there who still doesn't understand that the 2008 financial crisis was caused by?

the politicians in Washington D C and not the "greedy bankers" on Wall Street that Obama and Pelosi keep trying to blame?Do you know of anybody out there who still doesn't understand that the 2008 financial crisis was caused by?
I take it that "Proud Texan" above chooses to believe people like our great President

and Nancy Pelosi, Henry Waxman, and Barney Frank

what an idiot
Actually, I would say that the Democrat's narrative (that the crisis was the fault of flawed horrible capitalism) is far more widely known and believed than the understanding that the Fed, Fan/Fred, and other bad laws created a broken incentive structure that Wall Street reacted to. This is because despite FOX's popularity as and individual 'news' source, the media is still dominated by leftist thinkers who are either to lazy or too uncritical of Democratic pols to fact check their assertions, but are more than willing to fact-check GOP pols.Do you know of anybody out there who still doesn't understand that the 2008 financial crisis was caused by?
Conservatives and Libertarians both understand that government is always at the heart of most of the problems in society. That's why both philosophies believe in having the least amount of government as possible.

Government is supposed to be a watchdog working in the interest of the public against corporate corruption.

Instead government ends up being the puppet for, and enabler of, corporate and wall street corruption.

Why do you think that an ombudsman who does his job always gets replaced and whistle blowers are vilified and rejected by society.
The libs haven't got the memo yet but they were more than willing to prop Fannie/Freddie up to make sure subprime loans were made regardless if they could pay them back...

Democrats in their own words Covering up the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Scam that caused our Economic Crisis

crisis ? what crisis ?

are you joking ?

wait till the next crisis , this one will look really small compared to the next one .

the rich want to increase there wealth on the backs of the working poor .

there is no crisis if you are rich .

please ?

let there be clear thinking about this serious issues .
It's easy to vilify someone if they don't have the microphone. Bankers had little, if anything, to do with the crisis. It's more the politicians, like the ones that are in there now, that caused it.
Well, it was the politicians enabled by the monetary policy of the Federal Reserve. But Obama doesn't want to cramp the Feds ability to print money in the slightest.
When Reagan said, "the government is the problem".... all hell broke loose. Deregulations. Deregulations. Deregulations. Then AIG collapsed. Merrill Lynch collapsed. GM collapsed. Big oil made outrageous profits and oil prices went sky high....... etc., etc.
It was started by too much spending and bad economic decisions by Bush and his cabinet.

If you refuse to acknowledge that, then you are in denial.
The housing bubble was the biggest factor and that was directly responsible because barny franks and crew forced banks to loan money to people that the banks knew could not %26amp; would not pay their loans.
Yeah, look up "deregulation" and "Phil Gramm."
Politicians in DC who are controlled by the greedy bankers.
actually by obama, even before his election....
Sorry it was the deregulation that was allowed by the republican controlled house and Senate.
ha. i know, how could you blame the people that profited off the boom?
Go talk to Barney Frank. He can help you out.

Fannie and Freddie? What's that?
You seem to be the only one in the dark about what actually happened.
