At the end of 2005, John McCain brought a bill up regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and the fact that he was not comfortable with the way they were "selling" mortgages and some of their other "dealings". It was Never passed. Granted, both Repubs and Dems denied it, but it was McCain's bill. Let's get the stories straight here, please.
As long as you continue to think there is any difference in the parties, you will never understand. The problems we have today started in 1913 when the Fed was created and were increased in 1933 when we went off the gold standard. In addition, the main engine that has kept the economy running for the past decades is credit. The sub prime mortgage crisis is just the current symptom. If it hadn't been for that, it would have been something else. If your family had overspent their income for years and suddenly you are faced with foreclosure, is the mortgage the problem? Are the democrats in so much political trouble over this financial crisis?
LOL. It wasn't the problems of 1992 that led to the complete deregulation of the mortgage industry, that was bush and mccain who did that. Americans are well aware of what got us into this mess, that is why obama is now hitting 50-45 in the polls.
you're right, but as usual they will escape any blame. Bush was president, so the public schooled public will put Bush down in the history books as the one to blame. Never mind the fact that he called for reforms on Freddy and Fanny numerous times. I myself am far more worried about them coming up with a solution rather than pointing fingers of blame. I like my job and my home and I'd kind of like to keep them. Are the democrats in so much political trouble over this financial crisis?
THE MS MEDIA will come to their rescue, and throw a block!
I'm with you. I think that they know it to but they will never admit to it because it would be political suicide and it would require a little bit of self-awareness.
