How long will it take to drive from West Hollywood to Santa monica?

I'll be driving from Hollywood Blvd. (Hollywood Place Apts.) to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica. It says it's 11 miles away. I'll have to be at work around 7am, and off around 4pm. What will my commute look like? I've always heard the traffic can be horrendous, and I want to prepare. Friday's will take you extra time coming home for sure but the fact that you'll be on the road early in the morning's I'd say you're looking at about 30 minutes or so. You may be able to cut some time, given where you're starting from, by taking the 101 to the 405 to Santa Monica. It's longer but unless there's an accident it might get you there quicker.



One thing about L.A. that you'll learn. If you have to be somewhere at a certain time err on the side of caution. Traffic can change very quickly. Good luck and welcome to L.A.
