My investments (make that EVERYONE'S investments) have taken a pounding recently.

On average it takes three years three months for the stock market to hit a new high after a Bear market and the recession *ends*.



When depends if we have already hit bottom. Right now the economy looks like it is still heading down.



The market looks ahead so the Nov. low may or may not have been the last low for the market even if the economy heads lower.



And this is worse than the "average" recession and Bear market, so it may take longer.

The current crisis is not a normal crisis so there isn't any stock market pullback to compare against. The closest to the current market conditions is the market crash of 1929 and that took 25 years to recover to its 1929 highs.
