Or perhaps, more importantly, who showed a little foresight. McCain supported the FDIC Reform Act of 2005 which was shot down by Senate Democrats. Now we see Obama supporting this. Pathetic.Who has shown more leadership during financial crisis, McCain or Obama?
Obama has.
McCain showed his way of handling matters by jumping to the conclusion that he was needed back in Washington to get the Republicans to vote for Bush's bailout fiasco. Even was concerned enough to suspend his losing campaign for President. What a political stunt. You know the results of that effort.
Obama reacted with a focused approach. Also concerned about the financial problems on Wall Street, he made daily calls to key Congress and Senate members in order to stay in the loop. He was prepared to get to Washington if and when needed.
A good leader does not panic the way McCain did.
I don't think either has shown great leadership in all this. I did see that McCain's first reaction is a very familiar one: find someone to blame and scapegoat him, in this case it was the head of the securities and exchange commission. At least Obama called his economic advisers together and heard what they thought.
We don't need another shoot from the hip cowboy.Who has shown more leadership during financial crisis, McCain or Obama?
Neither. But the candidate who has shown that they don't know what to do is McCain. Seriously, he quits his campaign to "deal with the financial crisis"? How stupid do we think we are? The only thing that he canceled was his appearance on the David Letterman Show. Then he turned around and said the debate was back on (even though he swore he wouldn't debate unless a decision was reached and it was not). What is going to happen when he is president and a real emergency pops up? Is he going to call for a time out and hope the rest of the world listens to him? It was all a big ploy and shows me how truly stupid he is.
Neither! McCain is either for it or against it depending on what hour of the day you ask. Obama didn't want to be at the core of the activity and claimed he could just phone it in. If you think either of these positions exhibits leadership qualities then you and I have different definitions of the word.Who has shown more leadership during financial crisis, McCain or Obama?
No one has shown, leadership...thats why theres such a mess...
The country is looking for anyone to "solve" problem now, BUT crisis cant be solved by any one person,.........but when it does get better...you can bet, their will plenty of folks, that will claim to be the LEADER...You can see by BUSH, everyone is more scared to do anything and getting blamed, that they are doing NOTHING about it, the HEROIC thing to do right now is make some kind of move...cause sitting still...is really the worst choice. Trying the wrong thing is better than not trying ANYTHING!
I'm a republican and am voting for McCain, but I have to say this on both of their behalf...
WHAT do you want them to do? Do you want them to pull out a magic wand and say *poof* it's fixed? They cannot go back in time and make lenders refuse to give out loans to everyone no matter their credit standing, ability to repay and job status! They cannot go back in time and make the American citizen decide that since they cannot repay the loan in full, they shouldn't ask for the line of credit! That's what got us right where we are now!
The government plays a role in the problem, but they were not alone!
McCain has the experience we need to LEAD us out of this problem, if elected President. Obama only refers to the "middle class" as often as he does to insure the votes he needs to win. After winning, he won't have any idea WHAT to do!!
McCain only wanted the bailout bill to be passed if worded correctly. I do not support the bailout bill because I think it's stupid to use taxpayers' money to bailout companies that screwed up!
TheThreeStooges... I love your avatar. That's hilarious!
McCain.. Personally I believe that where our country is at this point in time, we need someone how has experience. McCain knows this country and how is works and you can tell he really does love it. He wants to get into office and fix everything that Bush did not make all these new reforms like Obama.
Obama has a much better grasp of things and he has the great talent to listen and learn.
The coolness he conveys is what this country needs. Quiet reflection leads to good decisions.
I am looking for our Representatives to make sure that the CEOs of the failing Institutions get REAL punishment for running our country into the ground. Give them the boot and NO Millions of severance pay.
For those misinformed Obama did respond as a senator, he did go to Washington to meet with Bush along side McCain and others. He did not postpone the debate, because a leader needs to be able to handle more than one crises at a time.
Obama definitely!
20% or 140 billion dollars was set to be given to Obama's pet group Acorn. You tell me who has shown more leadership. Looks like Obama was leadershipping his way into his friends pockets. Oh wait I forgot he is against pork barrel spending.

McCain stopped his campaignn to rally house republicans to get the bill through. They bailed on the bill and his "leadership".
Neither has really done much of anything - however Obama's proposals seem to work better and contain more specifics than McCain's.
obama for sure. he's been more level headed and calm.
mccain has been using this crisis as a political ploy to sway more voters. suspend his campaign my @ss.
McCain!
Then she Shh hit the fan, he knew his job came first. Obama was still out shaking hands and kissing babies like a good politician does.
"I am Barack Obama, and I approve this message"
McCain tried and failed to take advantage of the crisis to score cheap political points and it backfired badly.
It's funny to watch Obama agree so vehemently with Bush. That is not the sign of a leadership.
Neither, both of them and everyone else is clueless about this financial crisis.
Neither. BOTH sides need to come together, stop the finger pointing, and start working on REAL solutions.
McCain went to Washington, Obama told them to call me if you need me...all of this must be "above Obama's pay grade".
McCain said he was going to make sure the bail out passed.....
WOW that is some good leadership!! %26lt;snark%26gt;
lol
