Yes and No. it is indisputable that Franks, Dodd and their pals crashed the economy with the fair housing act. That was clearly designed to create failures in the housing and financial sector just as the current health care proposal is designed to collapse and ultimately force the government to come in and assume total control. The plain truth is Franks and Dodd created legislation to force banks to loan money to people who could not repay it. Even a simpleton liberal mind can see the end result of that. These things are designed to eliminate private enterprise in favor of government control.



On the other hand, Bush did plenty on his own to create the environment where a man with socialist leanings and absolutely no experience could become president. Bush took us to war without an exit strategy. Bush signed off on the liberal housing plan as well as the liberal bailouts. Bush abandoned freedom in favor of government long ago. The fact is that George w. Bush was basically another Clinton in terms of fiscal policy.

Sorry, Kevin, the Democrats didn't have enough power to do that. The problems with our economy started with Reagan and snowballed from there. Deregulation of the banking industry is at the root of our problem. And I don't see Obama rushing to fix it either. We are now at the mercy of the banking industry. And they aren't very merciful.

Actually the Democrat Congress had the Bush's support in causing the financial crisis while they controlled the government. He could have fought them, but he did not. So we still have the people in office who caused the financial crash.
