Why has hollywood resorted to Concert movies instead of real movies?

I just finished watching "The Replacements" and thats one of the best movies in a long time.

Just a group of the biggest actors in hollywood having fun.

but today all we get mostly are Hannah Montana, a woman who cant sing much less act, Jonas brothers whoever the heck they are, and U2 3D.

I dont care if its a remake or a sequel. Lets get back to what hollywood is, not these stupid movies that belong on tv on channels most people ignore. Why has hollywood resorted to Concert movies instead of real movies? With crap like "Snakes on a Plane," "White Chicks," "Little Man," "Gigli," "The Shop-a-holic" and other complete and total pieces of crap coming out, why are you complaing about concert films? If you don't want to see them... don't see them. It's the nice thing about living in a free country.

Also, even though I personally do not like Miley Cyrus or The Jonas Brothers, both of those movies did very well at the box office... which is impressive when you consider that the cinema is close to being a dead art form. And I'm not sure why you even put U2-3D in the list. The film was released in select theatres for a two-week engagement for FANS! Incidentally, U2 has more fans than any other band currently playing!

Wow! Sorry, but that's one weak complaint. Also... technically not a question! Why has hollywood resorted to Concert movies instead of real movies? It's the "reality show" formula making its way in to movies. Lower budget accomodating pop culture. Kind of sad that this type of thing is getting so much more popular than documentaries.

Now let's not get started on re-makes and the same ultimate point I'd make about them... :)
