Should Hollywood have more racial and gender diverse directors?

Women, African-Americans, Hispanics and other minorites are missing in the director's chair. Should Hollywood make an attempt in having more mainstream directors that are minorites?

If you are a good director, then you should be in Hollywood.



Race and gender should have nothing to do with you being part in Hollywood, and going after people on the merits of such would be idiotic.



Now, if you were a good director but were DENIED access to Hollywood, then that is where racial considerations have legal ground.

well maybe not many people from other ethnic backgrounds actually WANT to direct.



i'm a Black young lady %26amp; that's something i'd like to do in the future but i don't know many other young women who are Black who have any interest in doing it.



i also think when people add race %26amp; sex into everything, it creates too much "drama" that's unnecessary.Should Hollywood have more racial and gender diverse directors?There is no justification for affirmative action which is just another form of discrimination. If a woman, a Black or a Hispanic is the best Director, that should be the only reason to place them in that position. Race is not a qualification for anything. Actually they're not missing. They are there, it's just that Hollywood doesn't acknowledge their works. It's very hard from these groups of people to get their works made into big motion pictures. Hollywood hasn't embraced the idea of having people from these groups represented equally to the traditional white male writers/producers.



And sometimes, a lot of the movies that you do see have been written and produced by people who represent these groups, its just that (as stated) they don't receive the recognition that the traditional screen play writers or directors do.Should Hollywood have more racial and gender diverse directors?Of course!Should Hollywood have more racial and gender diverse directors?
well, i agree. but i also noticed many hit movies include barley any asians. i wonder why that is. sometimes, while i flip through channels and go through asian channels. they have great expression and can act. why does hollywood not include many asians? i mean, look at brenda song. or jackie chan. theyre great actors. many hollywood stars are(not to be racist) caucasian, african american, or hispanic. they really should include more asians, cuz a lot of my asian friends wanna become actors.
