If you have a look at Hollywood movies most of the time the love interest is a white couple or black couple but very rarely a romantic movie will have a black man with a white woman or vice versa.
Does America still have issues with interracial romantic relationships hence not promoting them in films to avoid Americans thinking it is okay to date someone with a different skin color? Why do Hollywood movies rarely show interracial couples?People aren't generally consciously antagonistic to such a coupling, but it's possible that they're bothered by it at a more subliminal level, and so movie producers latch onto that and cast movies with non-interracial couples. Why do Hollywood movies rarely show interracial couples?
actually white man/black woman is more common in hollywood than the other way around.....in real life its different.
Look Who's coming to Dinner (the original) featured Sidney Pottier with a white woman, it was progressive for it's time. The more recent one with Ashton Kutcher with a black woman. Why do Hollywood movies rarely show interracial couples?lol, hilarious, yeah "America" as a whole accept interracial couples but I live in the south were there's plenty of different couples. They are looked at and talked about. I hate because I know my heart knows no color or religion but my hearing my family talk sometimes makes me nervous on who I'm bringing home. Why do Hollywood movies rarely show interracial couples?
I guess they have interracial couples if the story calls for it.
Some pretty good ones are:
Guess who's coming to dinner.
A patch of blue.
Ruby Jean and Joe
Daybreak (tv movie)
ShadowboxerWhy do Hollywood movies rarely show interracial couples?Funny you should mention that, the TV show Firefly featured a white man married to a black woman but the show was canceled by Fox...hmm....Why do Hollywood movies rarely show interracial couples?
Yes. People still fear things like that in many places. Movies are often cookie cutter, mainstream. Safe things sell to more people. It's not right though.
